1.0 Getting Ready
1.1 The Box: A Must-Have for Capturing Every Detail
On your wedding day, amidst the hustle and bustle of getting ready, it's easy to overlook the small details that collectively enhance the beauty and sentiment of your occasion. To ensure nothing is missed, we suggest preparing "The Box" — a special container dedicated to holding all the elements that symbolize the intricacies of your day. This will not only help your photographer capture these details but also provide a curated collection of memories you can cherish.
01.
Paper
Love Letters: Include heartfelt letters exchanged between you and your partner to be captured before you read them.
Invitations and Ceremony Booklets: Your wedding stationery, from invitations to ceremony programs, represents the formal announcement of your union and the day's structure.
Photos of Absent Loved Ones: Incorporate photographs of important people who cannot be there to show their significance and presence in spirit.
02.
Candid and Interactive Shots:
- Natural Interaction: Encourage your bridal party to interact naturally. Whether it’s toasting with champagne, helping each other with ties, or pinning boutonnieres, these moments are golden.
- Capture Candid Moments: Focus on the genuine interactions – the shared jokes, the hugs, and the laughter. These candid shots often tell the best stories.
- Interactive Activities: Plan fun activities like playing a quick game, sharing heartfelt stories, or even doing a group meditation to capture a range of emotions.
- Emotional Moments: Be ready to capture the emotional moments, like the bridesmaids seeing the bride in her dress for the first time, or the groomsmen giving the groom a pep talk.
- Use Props: Incorporate props like champagne glasses, confetti, or balloons to add a playful element to the photos.
03.
Fresh
Floral Pieces: Include buttonholes, corsages, bouquets and any extra stalks or buds your florist might provide. (you will have to ask them for it, or if you give me your vendor details i can reach out) These can be used in flat lays to create a cohesive aesthetic in your photos.
Ask the Florist: Communicate with your florist about leaving random floral elements for decorative purposes, which add a natural touch to your detail shots.
04.
Scent
Personal Perfumes: Decide whether you want to include just your own and your partner's perfumes or those of the bridal party as well. The fragrance you choose to wear will always remind you of your special day.
Memorable Essence: Having your photographer capture these bottles artistically, as scents are a powerful memory trigger. Our Scent triggers memories faster than any other sense.
1.2 The Group : Pre- gaming the Guys and Gals
Nothing says “wedding day” like the wild, joyful chaos of the bridal party and groomsmen getting ready. This part of the day is all about camaraderie, excitement, and a few pre-wedding jitters. It’s where the magic starts, and some of the best candid shots can be captured. Think of it as the pregame before the big event – filled with laughter, nerves, and heartfelt moments that set the tone for the entire day
Timing and Prep
Make sure you allocate enough time for both the bridal party and the groomsmen to get ready without feeling rushed. Trust me, you’ll want to savor these moments without the stress of a ticking clock.
Create a Timeline: Develop a detailed timeline for the morning preparations to keep everyone in the loop of who is coming when and whose turn at what time. 'Carefree' weddings stay casual and carefree through prior planning.
Set Up Early: Early Start: Have everything set up and ready before the photographer arrives. Dresses, suits, and accessories should be laid out for easy access and great photos. Also so we arnt intrupting you 100 times.
Emergency Kit: Have an emergency kit on hand with items like safety pins, stain remover, and tissues to handle any last-minute mishaps. Make this a fun job for a token person in each group. Everyone loves a job on a busy day
Communication: Keep everyone in the loop. Make sure your bridal party knows the schedule and any important details for a smooth start to the day.
How have Candid and Interactive Shots
Encourage your bridal party to ignore the camera and just be in the moment. Whether it’s toasting with champagne, helping each other with ties, or pinning boutonnieres, these moments are golden. We will guide you but also breathe in and feel the moment
Write your wedding party little notes of apprication to read to them. Ask them on the lead up to thing heartfelt stories or moments you had to write them down and share them. Weddings are amazing time to say all those lovely things you think of the people you choose to support you.
Save showing you in your dress/Suit out side of picking it out to get your e bridesmaids raw emotions seeing the bride in her dress for the first time, or the groomsmen giving the groom a pep talk.
Choose fun, coordinated outfits like matching robes or pajamas for the bridesmaids and personalized flasks or socks for the groomsmen. It adds a cohesive yet personal touch to the photos.
1.3 Photos of You: Close-Ups of the Details
Detail shots are an essential part of your wedding album, capturing the beauty and intricacy of the bridal gown, shoes, bouquet, and other special accessories. These close-ups highlight the thought and care that went into choosing each item and create lasting memories of the small but significant details of your day.
